A Good Man In Africa (1994)

Why was Nelson Mandela and ANC on official US terrorist list until recently ( according to press reports)?

Since 1990 after his February 08 release, Mr. Nelson Mandela was not just a hero and statesman in South Africa but globally including the USA and even then President George H.W. Bush invited Mandela to address both houses of Congress in the early 1990’s, the only non-royal and non-head state state ever to address the America’s Holy but Secular GROUND!

He went to receive honors in eevery sector of the American establishment revered by both Republicans and Democrats.

Immidiately since 1994 the Presidents and governments of South Africa have been more closer than most countries that were led by “revolutionaries” and US-South Africa bilateral realtiosn are so good that when in South Africa President George W. Bush in 2003 that South Africa’s President Mbeki was “my (American) point man in Africa”.

Meaning that South Africa’s ruling party, ANC and its leaders, including Mandela were not a “national security risk to America”.

Mandela is on the terrorist list because the ANC used “armed force” in thier battle against apartheid.
It doesn’t make sense but there are many people on the “terror list” that don’t deserve it. Of course many are on the list who do deserve to be on there also.
It’s another example of how many things simply defy common sense these days, especially when left to the government to decide.
