How do I file a complaint against CT. DCF?

In 1993 my daughter was 16. She decided she could move in with her boyfriend. The state said I could not stop her. A couple of days later she made an appointment with Planned Parent and expected her father and I to pay for the bill. We told her if she and her boyfriend were adult enough to live on there own they should pay for there own birth control.
My daughter then went and applied for title 19. A social worker from DCF called and told me we had to pay. I again reinterated that she would need to come and speak with her father and I. No one called or approched us from DCF and our daughter decided she wasn’t old enough to live on her own, and came home. Why then do I only learn that I had a neglect charge against me over this 14 years later? I was taken out of my classes for a new job, and I was told with this job I could not have these charges against me, and I was let go.

Between now and then, a Registry of Abuse and Neglect was started. I am not in CT, but my state does this too. A juvenile complains about his parents, and a social worker tends to dump the parent’s name into the Registry.

The only way to get off of the list is to contact DCF and ask for an appeal to get your name off the Registry. If they understand the circumstances, they will probably take it off. If not , you’ll have to hire an attorney. As long as your name is on that list, there are scores of jobs you’ll be banned from.

I know how you feel, I had a brush with DCF in my state too. My son complained that I yelled at him, and they brought up a charge of Neglect against me. later it was dropped and both the social worker and attorney promised me that my name was not in the abuse registry.
