who would of won or what would of happened if the ussr and usa went to war in 1963?

this is based in a fictional world but what would of happened who would win what would the world be like would brazil be the number 1 superpower after all asia, europe, north america would be bombarded with nukes what would happen to africa it wouldnt have any aid at all what would the world be like can i have some seriouse answers please not just “cockaroaches would rule” oh and put some stuff about both sides military advantages in war.

Nobody would have won but the ecological results would have been devastating for the world, and thus while humanity might not become extinct, it would never again have such a level of technology.

Even now we are running on a knife edge that cannot be sustained. A large scale nuclear exchange would do for the world what AIDS in Africa or the Chemical spraying in Viet Nam, or even the depleted uranium we are splattering around Iraq is already doing for life expectancy, to say nothing of the individual private horrors of those born horridly deformed.

As for actual Military conflict, the Russian arsenal was mostly hype, as much on our side as theirs. So they would never “control” even the ones they lost anyway a few years later. Any actual invasion would be opposed by an insurgency as the Russians were in Afghanistan, or as we are now in Afghanistan or Iraq, with the only possible response by the occupier of massive brutality. So there would be little migration or overlordship.

With such devastated culture the world would slip into a dark ages that they would never get out of as all the easy to find energy would be gone.
