What is a good theme for back to the future?

so i have to write an essay about the theme of the 1985 movie back to the future. We are learning about science fiction stories and what they really mean. They’re supposed to be about current events or current problems but i can’t figure out what back to the future is really about. can any one please help me
ps its themes like appearance vs reality, bildingsroman, man’s humanity to man, individual vs. society, man as machine, searching for one’s identity, descrimination…any guesses which of these it could possibly be or it could even be something else
please help me i’m really confused!!!!
i’m not trying to cheat on homework i just really need help i’m the one that has to write the essay on it

Society. The cultural disparity between 1985 and 1955: 1955 was the time when teenage culture first started to forge its own identity and take over America to become its dominating culture. The constant generational conflict; an early draft of the script had a newspaper in the past complaining about “kids today”;

Standing up for oneself, as seen in the bildungsroman subplot with George and Biff where George turns from wimp to confident writer; determination – “If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything”; discovering that everyone, including your parents, was once young – appearance vs reality there too, in Marty’s image of what his mother was like “a nun” and what she really was like at his age, and how he was more like his father than he thought (their similar fear of rejection), which leads him to a greater understanding of himself once he sees his own flaws reflected in another person – at the end of the film, we see him carrying his band’s audition tape in an envelope to mail despite earlier not wanting to do so for fear of being rejected.

Doc Brown the town outcast and misfit – discrimination there? and how Marty was the only one who would willingly hang out with him, despite his principal Mr. Strickland’s disapproval;

How Back to the Future is basically a story about people; the science fiction is just the setting that allows that story to unfold.
