If you’ve always wanted to take a step back into the future you still can with the wide variety of channels featured on satellite TV. You might still have the VHS collection lying in your basement, but with satellite TV all of these timeless VHS classics don’t have the same value. Plus, you’ll be disappointed when you actually see the visual quality with which you can watch some of these films. At least with satellite TV you might be able to see Back to the Future with a surround sound system, and a large flat HD compatible television. Once you see the clock tower strike midnight and the millennium falcon return back to the present, you won’t want to watch movies any other way again.
Satellite TV could be your secret towards a relive the 80’s revolution. When it comes to the great loveable actors from the 80’s there is no face as recognizable as Michael J. Fox. For this reason, you should kick off your 80’s fest celebration with some of Michael’s most memorable films. If you can’t think back far enough to recollect some of these gems you should take a flash back with this shortlist.
The plans for the mass production and retail of a hover board went into action following the release of Back to the Future Part II in 1989. Marty played by Michael J. Fox head into the future in this sequel, but commits a grave error when he decides to bring a sports almanac back with him because it ultimately lands in the hands of his arch enemy Biff. Biff ends up becoming a powerful millionaire in the future, and Marty in order to right the wrongs has to travel back to the 1950’s to prevent an important Biff heirloom.
Another coming of age flick for the memory bank is the 1988 film Big Lights, Big City, where Fox plays in his first adult role. He acts as a magazine fact checker who loses his mother to death, his beautiful wife, and his mind as he begins to partake in heaving drugs and drinking. Fox plays a tragic character, and the setting is true to the New York City scene at the time.
If drama isn’t what you are looking for you can find comedy in Teen Wolf. You really won’t believe how truly entertaining this movie is until you watch it for a second time. Fox is a normal high school student who plays basketball and looks for love with the high school bombshell. The movie gets comedic once he realizes he can sporadically change into a werewolf.
You true 80’s experience will be complete with the original Back to the Future. It is Fox’s first big time movie role, and he nails it. His character Marty is transported back to the 1950’s where he sees his mother and father. His presence in the past complicates things and he has to make sure that they fall in love with each other so that he can return to home the same.
