Breaking Away (1979)

what’s this movie?

I think this movie in the late 70’s about a boy who was crazy about bicyles and we wanted to join in the cinzano team and do the tour de france(?) Its a comedy and I can’t remember who starred in the movie. I remember one scene where the Italian guys sabotage his bike because they think he’s a joke.
But he gets back on his bike and finishes the race and wins.
Can anyone remember this movie. I’m not sure but I think the movie might be called Breaking Away made in 1979. Can anyone help thanks

You are right, but it wasn’t the Tour De France. Here is a link to the movie. I haven’t seen it in years, but it starred Dennis Christopher and a young Dennis Quaid.
