Bag Ladies celebrate 30th year at Indy Pride
Coby Palmer stands in his “Bag Lady Haven” — the back room of his flower shop off Keystone Avenue in Indianapolis — sifting through yellowed photos, newspaper clippings and posters. He picks up a snapshot of a group of drag queens on a bus. It was shot 30 years ago, during the first Bag Ladies bus tour, a bar crawl that became what’s believed to be Indiana’s first AIDS and HIV charity.
