Cost Of Living (1997)
Do u notice now the cost of living is damn high lah?pls read below…..?
Since 1997 Asian Financial Crisis started our Rm substancially Devalue so our purchasing power less ,now it seems our money can;t buy much thing ,the inflation is getting higher and higher like Gardenia Bread after harga naik now harga minyak drop but price of the bread tak turn, what the hell is it .
That’s reality, whether we like it or not we have to accept it. On our side we just have to be more careful with how we spend our money and manage our money well.
Just to share something amusing with you (true story). A Punjabi friend of mine was eating roti canai at a mamak restaurant when the roti canai came to his table, he took a look and then lifted the roti canai. He shouted (in a joking manner) at the roti canai maker and told him, “hei baya !, your roti canai is so thin eventhough you already increased the price, the roti is so thin , i can even see you “through” (insinuating the roti is almost transparent ) this roti.
After shouting this he began to eat and within seconds he shouted again. “hei baya, your curry is so watery, i dip your roti into your curry and before i could put into my mouth, all the curry drip back to the plate. “How to eat like this ?”.
He made the same remark a few times but now each time he goes there, the roti canai maker will make a thicker one for him so as to prevent him from shouting and embarassing the restaurant.
Lesson learnt here is that sometimes if we complain we might get a better deal. If we just accept everything quietly, we will be deemed to have accepted the price hike willingly.
