Does a 2002 BMW 325 come standard with automatic lights?

I’m in the process of a possible DUI and I need to know if the BMW I was driving had automatic lights? I was driving at night when an officer stopped me and stated that my headlights were off but I thought the vehicle came standard with automatic lights? I was borrowing my friends 2002 BMW 325 and I had just blown the engine (damn it!) so I don’t know if that would’ve affected the automatic headlights or if it they even came standard on this make and model? My friend won’t talk to me and I can’t get a straight answer from anyone. Please help

Yes it has. But paradoxically the automatic lights setting has to be manually set in the light switch itself.
This is to the leftmost of the light switch, the middle top is off, the
slightly right is accessories and parklights, and the rightmost is headlights on.
The headlights would not turn on by itself if the light switch is not set to automatic.
