How should I end the song Sue Me from Guys and Dolls?
For my audition for Guys and Dolls the director specifically told us to sing a song that the character we want sings. I want the part of Nathan Detroit who sings Sue Me, I’m guessing they’ll want to hear most of the song and I’m not sure how to end it. In the 1955 movie Frank Sinatra ends the last “i love you” very sweet and calmingly. In the 1992 revival though its ended by belting “i love you”. I enjoy both but which one should I do?
Which everyone feels right to you and the one that you can comfortably excel at.
If you can’t belt, don’t bother – especially at an audition.
