When will World Cup Soccer be played next year?

I know most of the time it’s during the summer. That’s because most of the time, the host country is in the Northern Hemisphere. Next year, South Africa is hosting it. To me, it wouldn’t make sense to have the games during the middle of their winter. I realize South Africa is mostly a Mediterranean and semiarid climate, but it still gets cold in the desert. I don’t know about the Kalahari, but I do know there are cold deserts like the Gobi in Western China. Will they do what the Aussies did during the 2000 Olympics and have in October or something like that? I know that’s during the spring in Australia, but they had to have it before the NBA season; otherwise the Dream Team wouldn’t be able to compete. Is the South African government going to make some sort of compromise with the other soccer leagues? Hosting a world event in the Southern Hemisphere where it’s the opposite season creates all sorts of drastic changes.

They did the same thing for the confed cup this year. temperatures dropped down into the 30s at one point but it didn’t really seem to affect the players that much. apparently, it’s more like our october/november weather than february/march, so it should be okay.
