How good or bad is the movie “Invaders from Mars” (1986)? Is it worth buying on DVD?
Is the movie “Invaders from Mars” (1986)is it any good? Who stars in it? Is it worth buying on DVD? What was the plot of this movie? Was it a good movie or bad movie? Who all stars in this movie ? Did it win any awards or anything? How well did it do with movie critics and moviegoers? Is it worth buying on DVD ? Is there any nudity, swearing or violence in it?
First off, the film is a remake, which captures none of the charm and suspense of the original film (which has the same title). Ostensively, the film is probably meant to be a children’s film (the original film falls in that category), so there is no nudity and if there is any swearing it is very mild. There is a bit of violence but it is fantasy violence. Karen Black is the best known person in the cast and the movie has a juvenile lead.
I’d advise you to skip buying the DVD and see if you can’t find a copy of the original film, which is something of a classic.

Invaders from Mars
$14.98 Let's face it: a movie in which Louise Fletcher eats a bullfrog can't be all that bad. Indeed, Tobe Hooper's remake of the 1953 classic Invaders from Mars is a total hoot, remaining loyal to the original while serving up a kaleidoscopic orgy of fang-toothed beasties, dazzling pyrotechnics, and enough wretched dialogue to choke its enthusiastic cast. If anything, Hooper's too enamored of the origin... |
