Johns (1996)

History of The InterNetwork Marketing Movement

In 1996 Dr Ken Evoy turned his attention to marketing with websites. He firmly believed that any business, large or small, could greatly benefit from proper use of websites.

But in particular, he was convinced that with the right approach the small business person could earn the large sums enjoyed by many executives of multi-national companies, sportsmen, pop and film stars.

Everything Ken has taught and practiced since has proved him to be right.

Ken is blessed with remarkable insight and analytical capability. With vast management experience, he came to Online Marketing from a series of outstanding business successes achieved in several very different fields.

Ken is a medical doctor who formerly taught and practiced emergency medicine at McGill University, was a highly successful toy and game designer with his wife, wrote a computer program for a successful investing strategy in a highly specialized “niche” market, found time to refine the game of a tour professional golfer, coached a championship, elite-level Little League baseball team, and was/is an author.

When I went Online, it was not long before I got interested in the promise of Multi Level Marketing.

But to me the world of MLM appeared a very strange one. Seemingly built on blind faith, hit and miss marketing methods, hard selling, suspect business and product claims, rampant hype, and it promised a future with lots more of the same.

So I feel I was lucky to came across SiteSell… Ken’s teaching website and 5-Pillar Affiliate Program.

Ken’s work put me on the right road with the right tools with which to build a home business/ small business using the Internet.

When Ken first started he openly stated that, although he used some of the ingenious ideas being used in MLM Pay Plans when devising his own Affiliate Program, he did not like the business culture surrounding Internet Marketing.

To quote Ken:

“They should go together, hand-in-glove. And yet, Network Marketers have struggled to realize the near-infinite networking and lead-generating potential of the Web.

It does not have to be that way. The key is to build your business, the right way, the natural way. Instead of being controlled by the restrictions of companies you represent and by government regulation, build your own business and control your own destiny.”

Quite rightly Ken points out that a MLM program is just one of very many ways to monetize a website. But an MLM program does promise residual income that, if things work out well, can provide a “walk away”, retirement income.

Ken teaches a different method of growing a residual income. Proof of this is the outstanding success of Aguilla-Beaches.com, a monetized website started and managed by Ken’s teenage daughter now earning thousands of dollars each month.

But then perhaps this is to be expected from the daughter of a business genius!

Ken Evoy has always believed that there was a natural affinity between, Internet marketing and Network Marketing. Even more so, as time goes by – considering the ever improving technologies.  But MLM Custom and Practice had to be revised.

In 2008/ 2009 he partnered with Ann Sieg to set up a one-off teaching program for MLM practitioners that laid out custom and practice for the MLM Industry. This program was titled InterNetwork Marketing

Ken and Ann were not alone. A huge contribution to The 21st Century InterNetwork Marketing Movement was also being made by Mike Dillard, who himself, was making great strides in changing MLM Custom and Practice with several important publications such as Magnetic Marketing and Marketing on A Budget.

Interestingly, although these three pioneers were not working as a team, non-the–less they were/are completely in step with one another about Network Marketing. A matter of great minds thinking alike, maybe?

Mike Klingler, an experienced exponent of MLM over a number of years, was very quick to appreciate Ann Siegs publication called The Renegade Marketer. He quickly set up Marketing Merge to embrace the teachings of Ann Sieg, Mike Dillard and Ken Evoy. Marketing Merge being an umbrella company for Renegade University, and Renegade University Professional.

On 2nd April 2009, Ann Sieg and Mike Klingler jointly commenced The Renegade Professional, an organisation set up to teach and mentor new age MLM Custom and Practice. Attaining financial independence themselves their raison d’etre being to teach others the methods, secrets, tips, and tricks that helped them to financial success.

Teaching methods involving “over the shoulder” personal help, at a pace set by the individual, and at a very reasonable cost…their intention is to get business pupils up and running and then, over time, help them reach their business ambitions.

Ann has just written a free follow-up to The Renegade Marketer called Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto. Yet another sign of her commitment to the InterNetwork Marketing cause.

MLM has come a long way in the last ten years… in particular the past three years. The future promises much from this new way of running a Internet Marketing/  Network Marketing business.

The Network Marketing Industry is evolving fast. And, critically, in this writer’s opinion… very much in the right direction.

Thanks to its committed leaders, The InterNetwork Marketing Movement really does give small business owners the chance to produce earnings comparable to those earned by many top company executives, sportsmen, pop and film stars.

I too am a member of this growing 21st Century Movement, and I write more about it in other articles.
