Last Night (1998)
What is a headlight switch vs. multifunction switch on a 1998 Ford Taurus?
Last week my headlights began to go out while I was driving. When I hit the steering wheel, they came back on. Last night, they stopped working (except for the parking lights). The brights worked for a while, however. Then, the brights stopped working unless you held the lever forward. I know it’s one of these switches, but what is the difference and which one do you think is the culprit?
I agree with the other poster. When the headlights are swtiched on, it powers up from the headlight switch through the multifunction switch, during normal low beam operation. This is the turn signal lever, wiper speed/washer, and hazard swtich control assembly, hence the name “multifunction” switch. By your description of the symptoms, it sounds like you need to replace it. Replacing it is not a big issue. To do so requires removing the ignition lock cylinder, the upper & lower steering column halves (3 screws), and the multifunction switch itself (2 screws and 2 electrical connectors). Hope this helps.

(Any collection without "A Change is Gonna Come" is an automatic failure.) Cooke's melodious v... |

A Swingin' Affair!
$8.82 A Swingin' Affair! is as perfect as records get. Sinatra sounds near to bursting with self-assurance on this 1957 release; even on the laments "I Guess I'll Have to Change My Plans" and "No One Ever Tells You," this is a Frank who's at the top of his game and isn't shy about letting you know he knows it. Nelson Riddle's upbeat arrangements are among his smoothest, and the varied program (which als... |

What distinguishes the 15 subsequent tracks is a sparkling symbiosis of artist, melody, and musical invention. Could anyone but the towering Grace Jones have gro... |

American Graffiti (Collector's Edition)
$8.24 Here's how critic Roger Ebert described the unique and lasting value of George Lucas's 1973 box-office hit, American Graffiti: "[It's] not only a great movie but a brilliant work of historical fiction; no sociological treatise could duplicate the movie's success in remembering exactly how it was to be alive at that cultural instant." The time to which Ebert and the film refers is the summer of 196... |

The Long Kiss Goodnight
$4.37 Geena Davis and her former husband, director Renny Harlin, attempted to pick up the pieces after the debacle of their box-office disaster, Cutthroat Island. What they came up with was this repulsive ode to American film noir, based on a script by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) about an amnesiac schoolteacher (Davis) who searches for her true identity and finds she is actually a secret agent immersed i... |
