Lawrence Of Arabia (1962)
POLL Which movie changed your life?
Humorist Dave Barry.Animal House (1978). “A whole, huge, massive genre came out of that movie, and all this ‘guy humor’ followed it.”
Biographer Robert Caro.Lawrence of Arabia (1962). Director David Lean “seems to feel, as I do, that history in part turns on character, on the personalities of the great figures of an era.”
Novelist Michael Connelly.Chinatown (1974). “It is steeped in the myth of Los Angeles and ‘the fix.’ “
Historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.Gone With the Wind (1939). “When I wrote about Lincoln and the Civil War, the scenes from that movie were still in my head, even though I had learned how unbalanced it was to the (South’s) side. … People still romance that war. No other film had that effect on me.”
Of the 4 you site, the only one I have seen is Animal House. I did not know until now that it was a Dave Barry movie, so that is interesting. I think it made me crazy & sloppy & now I work as a professional organizer so it must have put me off balance to get balanced.
One movie that changed my life beside the ones you sited is called “end of the spear”. When people got up to leave the theatre they ended up missing the life changing part so I have learned not to leave until I am sure the movie is over.
