Budget cost in Hong Kong?
I’m just wondering how much money I should set aside for things like food, transportation and hotel for an approximately 1-month trip to Hong Kong during the summer? Rough estimates in Canadian or HK dollars will be okay.
Food – cheap/fair food is fine, I might go to a fancier place 2-3 times. Is $1000 Cdn enough?
Hotel – midrange (places like Holiday Inn?) in area w/ easy transportation access and central to popular places? I think there’s a Holiday InnExpress at like Causeway Bay…those type of locations? >> Friend did quick search, around Cdn. $2000 min. per person for 1 room, 2 beds?
Transportation – I heard its HK150 (or ~20? Cdn/US) for purchase of a Octopus card? If used only for transport to popular areas, is $200 Cdn enough?

Also: any other budget advices will help. I’ll be going from Vancouver BC.

Dinner for two – mid-range (excl. wine) 600 HKD
Dinner for two – top restaurant (excl. wine) 1,100 HKD
Transportation
Taxi: 110 HKD Depends on how far, more or less then this
Bus: 8 HKD Depends on how far, more or less then this
Minibus: 5 HKD Depends on how far, more or less then this
Tram (anywhere): 2 HKD
But expect pay around these prices.
