please help!!! dirt bike having trouble?

my 1987 suzuki sp 200 is a four stroke, top head cam, and is acting like crap. it had no compression so i put in piston rings, it wouldnt kick over so i took it apart again and put it back together not messing with the rings and now it once again has no compression. what can i do to fix it?

its a 4 stroke so it has valves..when u split it did you time it up correctally?..you may have a bent valve causung loss of compresion…nice old bikes by the way…
