The Affair (1969)
Does education and age matter for President?
When choosing a President, should they be the best and brightest or closer to a regular person?
John McCain: U.S. Naval Academy, B.S. (fixed curriculum) 1954. Ranked 894 out of 899. National War College, attended 1973-1974. Infractions: Grounded in 1964 for hitting power lines in Spain; Keating Five scandal 1980s-1990s. Age 71
Barack Obama: Columbia Univ., B.S. Political Science, International Affairs, 1983; Harvard University, J.D., 1988, Professor, Constitutional Law, University of Chicago 1992-2004. Infractions: None. Age: 46
Hillary Clinton: Wellesley College, B.A. Political Science, 1969; Yale University, J.D., 1973. Infractions: None. Age: 60
In a word, yes. I know this sounds elitist, but I want a president who’s smarter than me(or rather smarter than I), not someone who I could hang out with. I wouldn’t trust most of my friends to take care of my cat let alone the intricate situations that face a national leader in this complicated world.

Elvis gets hung up on one of the nuns, played by Mary Tyler Moore; she seems a lot closer to The Dick Van Dyke Show than the Vatican. ... |

A Walk on the Moon
$4.92 Although its tale of marital crisis unfolds a bit too cleanly, A Walk on the Moon--which was coproduced by Dustin Hoffman--offers a welcome relief from the juvenile assault of skull-throbbing blockbusters. The story is gently involving, the characters are authentic, and, best of all, Diane Lane is given a chance to show why she's one of the most genuine and underrated actresses of her generation.... |
