have you seen “The Agony and the Ecstasy”?

“The Agony and the Ecstasy” is a great movie, made in 1965, starring Charlton Heston as Michelangelo, and Rex Harrison (the original Dr. Doolittle) as Pope Julius II. It has great footage portraying Michelangelo painting the ceiling of he Sistine Chapel. I enjoyed it. Has anyone else seen it? If not, you should buy it. Of course I’ma little biased: I’m a big Charlton Heston fan.

It only tells a fraction of Michaelangelo’s story from Irving Stone’s book, but it’s a terrific movie. And Alex North’s soundtrack is every bit as breathtaking as the magnificent sets.
