A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge?
What is the different between -
– A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge 2000 (216 pages) and
– A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) (390 pages) 4th Edition.
Saw that both are still current editions.
Like to know which is the correct to buy. I want to read the correct book to have a proper understanding of the world of PM.
The PMBOK 2000 guide is very old – it is the second edition. The third edition came out in 2004 and the 4th edition is just out – it is therefore the latest edition.
If you’re looking for a standard describing best practices in project management, then the PMBOK is for you. If you’re look for advice on how to actually do project management, there are more appropriate books.
