The Chinese Connection (1972)
What happened to the Movie Industry?
For instance, twilight the movie with the vampires. When I was a kid I was scared of vampires. You watch a movie like Salems Lot (Kurt Barlow) then get back to me.
There use to be movies from Bruce Lee, Fist of Fury, Chinese Connection, Big Boss Man and others. Now I have Jackie Chan movies that don’t center around things of my generation. You go watch Fist of Fury by Bruce Lee then watch Rush hour, then get back to me.
The movie industry has plummeted to new lows as far as I concerned. The New Karate Kid and frankly the first Karate Kid wasn’t as good as Kung Fu 1972. You had to do more then watch with a blind open mind. Agree?
Yeah, it’s disappointing. They are really all about the money now, worried about new ways to make some shitty talking animal movie to rope in kids. And movies with hunky guys and sexy girls to get the teens. Where are the story lines, the true stories? True Hollywood, old Hollywood is gone. Where is the glamor, it’s gone. We need classic beauties again like Natalie Wood, Leslie Caron, Lauren Becall, Elizabeth Taylor. And great male leads like Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, and Montgomery Cliff. I’d really love to bring back the classics, or even stuff made before the 80s.

His first film, the low-budget Hong Kong adventure Fists of Fury (as it was titled in the U.S.), is exactly that: a raw, rough-edged revenge drama of a country boy who uncovers a heroin-smugglin... |
