The Exorcist (1973)
Just finished watching The Exorcist?
Ok so I just finished watching The Exorcist (1973 version). But I’m kind of confused about the ending. They perform the exorcism and then…? Any explaining would be wonderful.
The exorcism fails and Father Merrin dies. The demon, Pazuzu, chuckles at Father Karras. (In the book, if I remember correclty, Pazuzu says something really obscene to Karras.) Karras gets pissed off and starts beating the hell out of Pazuzu. Pazuzu possesses Karras. The now-possessed Karras jumps out of Regan’s bedroom window, hits the ground, and rolls down the stairway. Pazuzu is defeated as Karras dies.
(I’ve always wondered, though, what keeps Pazuzu from re-entering Regan? But, it’s all a bunch of supernatural nonsense, anyway.)
