The Fly (1986)
What is the name of that space game?
The game was out in the 80s. It may or may not have been on sega.
You are a spaceman that need to complete 4 to six planets. You can choose the order of the planets you want to complete. In the game you walk rightward in a 2D world. Each planet has a big enemy at the end.
One island was a ‘green’ island where you shoot various enemies: I specifically remember shooting a string of green wasps emerging from hives.
One island is a desert island. On this island there is also a vertical structure resembling the Egyptian pyramid and you jump upward on the various levels on the way up to the vertex of the pyramid. At the top of the pyramid there is a big flying ‘FACE’ that comes after you that you have to shoot.
I used to play that game at a game centre in 1986. What is that game called?
I tried really hard to find an arcade game that matches your description, but there were just so many side-scroller shooters from that era that trying to find one close enough was difficult.
I couldn’t find anything that did your description 100% justice, but games I’ve played that sound similar are Time Soldiers and Side Arms.

Black Celebration
$5.82 Depeche Mode's most foreboding album, leaning toward the gothic, is DM at their most bleak, black-armband, and nihilistic--no doubt played over and over by countless self-loathing teens as they dyed their hair black behind locked bedroom doors. The tracks are tastefully minimalist, yet the few sounds that dominate each song have a consuming, even overwhelming feel--like a big, heavy black cloud th... |

The Fly [Blu-ray]
$6.94 David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of the science fiction classic about a scientist who accidentally swaps body parts with a fly is both smart and terrifying: an allegory for the awful processes of slow death and a monster movie with a tragic spin. Jeff Goldblum gives a masterful performance as a sweet, nerdy scientist whose romance with a writer (Geena Davis) makes him more fully alive. Next thing yo... |
