Are the Razzies ought to be taken seriously?

The Razzie Awards are the movie awards that nominate or give the award for Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay etc. But are they ment to be taken seriously or are they just made up to make fun of films. Who needs them.

The Mask
And even great actors and actresses like Richard Harris, Jim Carrey, Natalie Portman, Arnold Schwartzenegger, Angelina Jolie, Joe Pesci, Brad Pitt and Jack Nicholson have been either nominated or had won a Razzie for Worst Actor/Actress.

Not every actor is fantastic in every movie they ever make…

Also, I don’t think that the Razzies are meant to be taken seriously. However, I appreciate the actors who find it funny and are able to laugh at themselves. Perfect example, Halle Berry actually showed up to the event to claim hers (Worst Actress) for the movie “Catwoman” and she’s got an Oscar; that was pretty sweet.
