The Long Riders (1980)

Which is better? A 1983 honda shadow or a 1980 Kawasaki ltd 750?

Little background for ya. I am 20 and looking to buy my first bike. Both of these bikes are in excellent condition that don’t have any problems right now. They both have great low mileage and tires that don’t need replacing for a while. The honda is my friends who has kept great care of it. The kawasaki is my cousin’s friends. My cousin is a long time rider. He thinks I should go with the kawasaki because he thinks that they are more desirable and will have a better resale value. Im not sure if i should take his opinion because he might be biased because he said that he didn’t like shadows. Like I said they are both in great condition for how old they are. I can get both for a grand. Please let me know which one is a better bike!! thank you

Like Kracker said, I too would go with the Honda. (I own 9 going back to 1978) The newer the bike the better your odes are at getting parts and service. I have bikes going back to 1974 and some parts are impossible to find.

Older bikes will have seals that will leak oil, but most of these are still readably available by their seal size 34×24mm ECT.

You all know about the glory that was 1987. A year after we almost lost Jerry to his diabetic coma in the summer of '86, the Dead were back, Jerry was the phoenix risen, and the band was bigger than ever: There was "Touch of Grey," In the Dark, the stadium tour with Dylan, a huge influx of new Heads; it was good times all around, for sure. The band was revived and a new day dawned! Well, we haven...
