The Mists Of Avalon (2001)

Pagans: Have you seen the movie “The Mists of Avalon” (2001)?

I don’t know how this movie has escaped me all these years, but I just finished watching it. While they did take some liberties with Pagan mythology, it was an extraordinary movie! It makes some wonderful points regarding Paganism and the Goddess. I never would’ve pictured Anjelica Huston as Lady of the Lake, but I was pleasantly suprised. If you’ve seen it, share your thoughts. If you haven’t, go rent it!
You got it, Feriluce…I can’t wait to go get the book. I’ll MAKE time for that one.

I agree with the above answers – the book is better! :)

I liked the movie, nevertheless. When it came out for the first time on television, our coven got together with popcorn (the book was required reading) and watched it together.

Angelica Huston just makes a really good Witch! She always has. I’d be surprised if she wasn’t an actual one in real life.

And I love the music Mystics Dream, from the score, by Loreena MacKinnet. And even though books usually are better than the movie, it is fun to see how the book is interpreted by someone in Hollywood to see how it will turn out on the big screen. :)
