you can never understand what he says and it has driven me nuts since 1984.

Like the others said, he does indeed say Moonchild. That’s a direct choice from the original book of course, where she is named Moonchild by him, or Mondenkind in the original German.

Before I realized what he named her, I always assumed that he named her after his dead mother. Personally, I like that better than Moonchild. Unless that is her name….
