Who was the MOST Dominate NFL team in any given Year?
My first thought is of course the 72′ Dolphins..still the only team to have a perfect season, who could forget names like Griese, Csonka, Jake Scott, Paul Warfield, Mercury Morris and a shut down safety named Dick Anderson who was MVP in the Super Bowl.
then the great Steelers teams of the 1970’s, Swann, Bradshaw, Jack Ham, Mean Jo, Dwight White, Franco Harris and on and on….
but I believe the team that had the most dominate single year…was the 1985 Chicago Bears! This town was singing Super Bowl Songs by game 5 that season! They did have one loss to Miami…then went on to CRUSH the 2nd best team in the Super-Bowl 63-3 or something…or close to it..unbelievable!

Dookie…you make an excellent point. I well remember that game..Montana at his peak…if I rememeber he went like 22 for 26 passing for 300 yards!
da’ bears of that 1985 season were the best it has ever been as far as dominance by a single team, week 1 through the super bowl… their one loss was to the dolphins, in a complete shootout, that only got away from them near the end of the game… then in the super bowl, they laughed the patriots right out of the louisiana super dome with their dominating 46-10 victory…no matter what anyone will say about the defenses after- the bucs and ravens specifically, the 1985 Monsters of the Midway were the only team to ever dominate in the fashion that they did, making opposing offenses fear them.
